Nguyen Van Duc Long currently holds positions at the University of Adelaide (Australia) and the University of Warwick (UK). He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Yeungnam University in 2012. Following this, he joined Samsung Cheil Industries as a Senior Process Engineer. Long has contributed to numerous long-term industrial projects, collaborating closely with manufacturers and engineering companies. His innovative solutions have been successfully implemented and operated in various industrial settings. Long has held various positions of responsibility in equipment and process design, operational efficiency improvement, technology transfer, and scale-up within the Chemical Industry. He has authored over 70 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters, and presented over 40 papers at international conferences. Additionally, Long has authored a distillation book titled "Advances in Distillation Retrofit," published by Springer.
His current research encompasses a broad spectrum, including process systems engineering, renewable hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizer production processes, development of plasma reactors, reaction engineering and plasma technology, carbon capture and storage, CO2 utilization, CO2 emission reduction, rotating packed bed systems, bioenergy science and engineering including biofuel, biochemicals, and biorefineries. Recently, he also focuses on digital twin technology, machine learning, as well as smart farming and space farming initiatives.
