During the past two years (2017-2019), I have devoted to work on the reduction of food waste in the Asia-Pacific region. I worked for the project, entitled “Strengthening Private-Public Partnership to Reduce Food Losses in the Supply Chain”, funded by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). My expertise includes the development of food waste measurement methods in different food categories, including grain, meat, fruit, and vegetable. Regarding the food waste reduction policy, I conducted several capacity buildings, focusing on the connection between public sectors, academic researchers, and private businesses, to create, develop, and encourage new initiatives and policy recommendations to governments.
My PhD research will focus on food waste issues in Australia at retails and customer levels. The research aims at investigating food waste drivers in customer behaviors at various points such as supermarkets, cafeterias, and homes.
