I am a teaching specialist lecturer within the School of Allied Health Science and Practice, Occupational Therapy Program. My background is as an Occupational Therapist with broad clinical experience across a range of settings including adult acute care, inpatient and community neurological rehabilitation, and community settings. I also have experience working in community paediatric settings. Prior to working as a clinical Occupational Therapist I had trained as a Developmental Educator and worked for 10 years with adults and children in the community and disability sectors in case management and life skills development roles both in South Australia and the Northern Territory. I have a strong interest and experience in occupational therapy clinical education and development of the future generation of occupational therapists. Currently I am interested in the use of simulation in occupational therapy clinical placements to optimise student placement and career readiness. As a part of my role at The University of Adelaide I have been developing an evidence based simulated placement experience to contribute to clinical placement hours. I currently teach and coordinate Occupational Perspectives of Health A and Occupational Therapy Clinical Practice A.
