Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology

Timothy Thavarajah is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) student in the School of Agriculture, Food & Wine under the supervision of Dr Julian Taylor (Biometry Hub) and Dr James Walter (Australian Grain Technologies). Timothy graduated with a BSc in Ecology and Plant Biology from The University of Adelaide.

Timothy is interested in incorporating innovative technologies in agriculture. Currently, Tim is undertaking a HDR project that focuses on improving the phenotypic assessment and selection of blackleg disease resistance in canola breeding programmes. His research uses technologies such as computer vision (object detection, instance segmentation) and multivariate genomic selection (LMMs).
