Hi I'm Dr Tiffany Hamilton (Brooks)
I am Clinical and Health Psychologist working clinically and as a senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide. I also work casually on research projects when I can.
I have previously completed my Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) at the University of South Australia and Master of Psychology (Health) at the University of Adelaide. I have also completed endorsements in clinical and health psychology. Clinically, I primarily work with clients who have overlapping chronic health and psychological concerns at Aware Women's Health in North Adelaide. I see clients with chronic pain (particularly persistent pelvic pain), anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, personality disorders, menstrual disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I use therapeutic approaches including cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy. I also utilise clinical skills such as hypnotherapy. Recently, I have commenced work as a seniour lecturer for pastoral care at Adelaide University Adelaide Health and Medical School. I counsel students in year four through to six at the medical school and developing mental health promotion activities as part of this role.
I have completed my PhD looking at psychological interventions for women with persistent pelvic pain conditions at the University of South Australia. In terms of research, I am interested in the overlap between mental and physical health conditions. This includes interests in psychology, pelvic pain, chronic pain, trauma therapies, hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and women's health conditions.
