Tien is a Research Fellow at the Quality Use of Medicines and Pharmacy Research Centre (QUMPRC). Tien completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in 2014 at UniSA and completed her PhD in 2024, with a focus on pharmacy practice and mental health. Tien has worked in a variety of pharmacy settings, including community, hospital, government and academia.
Tien is currently the Safety and Quality lead pharmacist for SA Pharmacy (Statewide Clinical Support Services), SA Health and also has recent experience practicing as the Senior Pharmacist (Medicines Programs) for the Office of the Chief Pharmacist, Department for Health and Wellbeing. In addition, she is also a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia’s Branch Committee (SA/NT).  
Tien has a strong research interest in pharmacy practice (expanded scope of practice), quality use of medicines (children and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds), medication safety and mental illness.
