Research background

The major focus of my research is on concrete materials and RC structural members. I have involved in many projects related to building materials such as novel concrete, sustainable concrete, high/ultra-high performance concrete, FRP and other types of composite materials. I am familiar with multiple design codes and standards for design of structures (i.e. large scale) and testing of materials (i.e. characterization tests). I also have strong background in chemical tests related to concrete or cement technology (SEM, TG, XRD, FTIR, NMR etc.). My research interests are listed as follows:

  • Mechanics based modeling of structural elements including beams, columns and slabs
  • Constitutive behavior of RC or composite structural members under torsion
