I am an MPhil student in the Department of English, Creative Writing, and Film researching the relation of the bildungsroman to rhythm in the modernist prose fiction of Henry James, James Joyce, and Virginia Woolf. Prior to my MPhil, I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours, the Brisbane School of Arts Prize, and the University Medal. For my Honours project, I read D. H. Lawrence's 'The Rainbow' and 'Women in Love' as modernist bildungsromane; an article developed from this project has been accepted for publication in the D. H. Lawrence Review. My candidature is supported by the E.W. Benham Research Scholarship.
