Dr Teresa M. Tiedge is an ARC-funded postdoctoral researcher between the Australian Centre for Wildlife Genomics at the Australian Museum (Sydney) and Adelaide University, where she is developing new DNA methodologies to combat wildlife crime in Australia.

Her research experience includes the forensic analysis of human and non-human DNA using traditional short tandem repeat (STR) analysis and next generation sequencing. Teresa’s PhD work concentrated on developing a wet-laboratory workflow and analysis of environmental DNA (eDNA) from mock geologic evidence, focusing on the bacterial, fungal, plant, and arthropod communities within soil and dust.
