Tanya obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy (Honours) at the University of South Australia in 1992, and then worked for many years in Melbourne, Victoria, before returning to Adelaide. She has worked across a wide variety of areas including acute care, road trauma rehabilitation (adults and paediatrics), orthopaedics, neurology, amputees, intensive care, hydrotherapy, chronic pain and group classes, with the majority of her time spent in the field of rehabilitation.
Tanya has taught in the undergraduate and graduate entry physiotherapy programs at both Flinders University and Uni SA over the past 10 years across many different courses, and has also worked on developing online multi-media learning resources for students.
Tanya has a particular interest in the mindfulness based approach to health management and the importance of self-care amongst heath care professionals as well as interprofessional learning. Tanya is also passionate about supporting students to transition into tertiary education.
