Tanja has served as the Burns Occupational Therapist for the Adult Burns Unit, at the Royal Adelaide Hospital since 2003. In addition to her extensive experience in burn care, her clinical background includes hand therapy, community-based occupational therapy, and driver assessment as a Driver Trained Occupational Therapist. She has been actively involved with the Australian & New Zealand Burns Association (ANZBA), is a member of the American Burn Association (ABA), and is an Associate Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA).
Tanja has delivered numerous presentations at ANZBA conferences and, in 2019, presented at the European, American, and Asia Pacific burn conferences and in 2024 presented her research at ISBI, Birmingham. She also delivers annual Burns Therapy workshops to occupational therapy students at the University of South Australia and Flinders University.
In 2019, Tanja completed a Master of Clinical Science at the University of Adelaide, undertaking a systematic review on the effects of moisturisers on scars. In 2020, she achieved Burn Therapist Certification through the American Burn Association.
