Ms Tania Carbone

Research Officer

Adelaide Medical School

Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

I work as a researcher within the field of Orthopaedics and Trauma. I project manage trauma and arthroplasty outcomes studies investigating aspects of clinical musculoskeletal research. I am the study coordinator for a number of orthopaedic clinical trials. Working alongside clinicians, nurses, allied health, scientists and students, I have been actively involved in multi-disciplinary projects within the Quality Assurance and Research Program. The aim of these projects being to translate the research findings into improved clinical outcomes that benefit both the health care system and individual patient groups. A large focus of recent work has involved a prospective study into the health outcomes of patients with fragility fractures to the hip, developing a model of postoperative remote follow-up and translating that model into the currently existing standard clinical pathway for that patient group. My role also involves the supervision of Year 6 Medial students undertaking their Orthopaedic and Trauma rotation at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
