Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD (as Co-Supervisor) - email supervisor to discuss availability.

Senior Postdoctoral Researcher and Ainsworth Fellow in T Cell Immunotherapy Laboratory (SAiGENCI).Dr Lannagan completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland in 2009 and has spent the last 13 years working with mouse models of cancer in Australia at CSIRO and SAHMRI (with Dan Worthley and Susan Woods) and in Scotland at the CRUK Scotland Institute (with Owen Sansom). Her areas of expertise have been in characterising KRAS genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMS) of early and metastatic colorectal cancer using sequencing technologies, looking at the tumour microenvironment as well as investigating stem cell plasticity. She has used complex GEMMS, generated in vitro tumour organoids and has used these to develop surgical and transplant models of metastatic cancer. These models were aligned to patient disease subtypes and she ran trials using mouse cancer models to test novel therapeutics. Dr Lannagan returned to Adelaide in 2024 to work under Dr Mara Zeissig in the T Cell Immunotherapy Lab at SAiGENCI.

Dr Lannagan is working on improving responses to T-cell based immunotherapies in solid cancers, with a focus on lung and pancreatic cancers. The lab uses a range of approaches, including genetically engineered mouse models and sophisticated CRISPR-Cas9 genetic screening techniques to understand how tumours evade the immune system and identify immune modulators to increase the efficacy of immunotherapy in solid tumours.
