Tahnee is a final year PhD candidate in the NeuroChemistry, Pharmocology and Discovery Research Group within the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at Adelaide University. Her project addresses the sex and gender gap in Parkinson's Disease, through female preclinical models and exploring how gender contributes to the lived experiences of individuals with Parkinson's. Tahnee's research takes a multidisciplinary approach, extending beyond neurodegenerative pathways and investigates mechanisms underlying skeletal deterioration, where high osteoporosis and fracture rates burden the Parkinson's Disease population. In 2025, Tahnee was awarded the South Australian Travel Grant by The Bone Health Foundation.
Tahnee has held an executive position in the postgraduate researchers committee for the last three years and advocates to improve the experience as a graduate researcher. Throughout her candidature, she has attained teaching positions at Adelaide and Flinders University across several courses, including Essentials of Neuroscience, Foundations of Human Neuroanatomy and Mind, Brain and Behaviour.
