Steve is a passionate educator in the School of Art, Architecture and Design. Steve is Course Coordinator of Interior Architecture Construction 1 (BUIL 1019), Interior Architecture Studies (ARCH 1031), Interior Architecture Construction 2 (BUIL 1020), Digital Media (COMP 2016), Interior Architecture Studio 3 (Multi-Media) (ARCH 2047) and Interior Architecture Studio 6 (Workplace Environments) (ARCH 3058) and on alternative years leads a mutli-disciplinary study tour (see Festa.org.nz) to reimagine post-quake Christchurch.  With a background in professional practice as an interior designer/ 3D modeller working on medium to large scale commercial, residential and health care projects, Steve brings extensive industry experience. He has recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Digital Learning) and is excited to combine his skills in digital learning with his knowledge and interests in design and creativity.

Research Interests: Simulation/simulacra/representation, design cognition; understanding, appraisal and process of design. In particular the legibility of the plan. Setting, scene and the search [obsession] for better intentional habitats. Modelling as process - the pedagogical integration of digital technologies to advance the exploration of shape and form. Research interests also include cyberculture, new media, genre studies, plot holes and file sharing. Authors or interest:- Neil Postman, Clay Shirky and Jerold J Abrams
