Dr Stephanie Webb is a lecturer of Psychology and research supervisor at the University of South Australia. She holds a PhD in Psychology and is a registered clinical psychologist. Her primary research interests include the study of attitudes toward sexual and gender minority groups, biases that promote social injustice, and group inequalities. She is also interested in the impact of social norms and pressures on behaviour and identity, and more broadly conducts research into better understanding negative attitudes toward those who may be vulnerable or oppressed.
Through collaborations and her affiliation with the UniSA Behaviour-Brain-Body centre, Webb also extends her research program into psycho-oncology, including investigating the psychological impacts of gynaecological cancer diagnosis.
She is also interested in research involving attitudes toward the use of animals, eating disorders and body image, and mental health.
Primary fields include social justice in the area of; heteronormative attitudes, anti-gay bias, gender, race, mental health stigma.
