Student Experience and Success
Soroush Shahnia is a researcher at Laser Physics and Photonic Devices Laboratories at the University of South Australia (UniSA). He received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University in 2007. He received his M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Australia in 2009. Since 2009, he has continuously collaborated in teaching programs as a tutor and course coordinator with UniSA, Open University Australia (OUA) and Aboriginal Tutorial Program (ATP).
In 2017, Soroush has started working with “The Institute for Photonics and Advances sensing” at the University of Adelaide as a research assistant. In 2017, he was awarded a scholarship under the Australian Research Council discovery project. As a PhD student, he started working with a centre of Laser Physics and Photonic Devices Laboratories. He is currently working on the development of fibre-based distributed sensing of electrical and chemical stimuli using conducting polymer.
