I am Program Director of the Master of Professional Engineering (Electrical) and a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Adelaide University. My research focuses on next-generation electrical machines and drive systems for transport electrification, with particular expertise in axial and radial flux machines, rare-earth-free traction technologies, electrical-machine optimisation and efficiency mapping.
My research bridges electromagnetic design, power electronics, optimisation, multi-physics analysis and experimental validation. I develop analytical and finite-element models together with optimisation and experimental methods to understand how electrical-machine technologies perform under realistic operating conditions, including vehicle driving cycles, thermal and mechanical constraints, converter losses and high-speed operation.
My broader research also encompasses energy storage, renewable-energy systems, electric vehicles and distributed energy resources, particularly where electrical energy conversion, storage and optimisation interact.

I am an experienced educator in electrical machines and drives, renewable energy and power systems. My teaching is strongly research-informed and integrates fundamental engineering theory with analytical modelling, finite-element simulation, laboratory experimentation and engineering design.
