Dr Siobhan O’Donovan R.N. is a research fellow and crash investigator at the Centre for Automotive Safety Research. Siobhan has a health sciences degree majoring in anatomical science and pathology and completed her PhD in 2022 exploring the patterns of fatal injury in motor vehicle occupants in South Australia. She also completed her Masters of Nursing in 2024. Siobhan has extensive teaching experience across a range of disciplines, including nursing, pathology, anatomical sciences, forensic sciences, and research skills. Her research investigates a wide range of road safety issues, including the epidemiology of road traffic injuries, the characterisation of injury patterns across diverse road user populations and the investigation of factors influencing injury outcomes, such as vehicle speed and crash characteristics. Her research interests also include exploring the relationship between mental health and injury outcomes, the optimisation of post-crash care and recovery systems, as well as the development, implementation, and evaluation of road safety policy.
