My research is based in the area of Medical Image Analysis, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, focusing primarily on the role of computer systems detecting metastatic lymph nodes on staging imaging for colorectal cancer.

I am a Research Officer and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide and a member of the RAH Colorectal Research Group. I received a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with first class honours from the University of Adelaide in 2018. While undertaking a PhD at the University of Adelaide, I was awarded the University of Adelaide Divisional Scholarship, the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand Supplementary Scholarship and the South Australian eHealth Innovation Grants Program grant. I completed my PhD in colorectal surgery and was awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Shortly after, I spent a year working as Research Officer with the Australian and New Zealand Audit of Surgical Mortality under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

My research focuses on better understanding the factors associated with treatment response and staging in colorectal cancer with the goal of personalizing therapy to reduce treatment toxicity, increase survival and improve post-treatment quality of life. I have authored or co-authored more than 60 articles in leading scientific journals, written one book chapter and presented my research at both national and international conferences.
