Sean (He/Him) is a PhD candidate and tutor in the School of Communication, Media, and Journalism. Interested in video game research, translation in popular media, and narrative.
My research investigates modes of narrative storytelling in open game worlds. My broader research interest is to explore the boundaries of play and narrative. In doing so, I am challenging existing norms of video game narrative design, video game genre definitions, and games research in order to bring new understandings to the world's largest medium.
