Scott Smith is Professor of Structural Engineering and Deputy Dean (International) in the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Adelaide, Australia. He holds Bachelor (1994) and PhD (1999) qualifications in civil/structural engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He also holds an MBA (2018) from Imperial College London, UK, and a Graduate Certificate (2005) in higher education teaching and learning from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

Research Interests

Research interests include the application of advanced materials (i.e. fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites) for the repair and strengthening of existing concrete, metallic and timber infrastructure; sustainable construction materials (i.e. bamboo, green concrete); extra-terrestrial construction; and engineering education.
