Scott Smith is Professor of Structural Engineering, Deputy Dean (International) in the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (ECMS), and Interim Head of the School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering (CEME) at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
He was awarded BE (Civil) (1994) and PhD (1999) (specialising in structural engineering) degrees from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He was also awarded an MBA (2018) from Imperial College London, UK, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (2005) from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.
Research Interests
Research interests include the application of advanced materials (i.e. fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites) for the repair and strengthening of existing concrete, metallic and timber infrastructure; sustainable construction materials (i.e. bamboo, green concrete); extra-terrestrial construction; and engineering education.
