Sandy is a Project Officer: Research for UniSA Business. She has worked for Professor Andrew Beer since 2012, initially as his Research Assistant at the Centre for Housing Urban and Regional Planning (CHURP) at the University of Adelaide, now continuing to support him since his move to the University of South Australia in late 2015.
Over her career, Sandy has been involved in many research projects on topics such as structural adjustment, housing and homelessness, just transitions, place-based leadership, population, regional development, regional housing and local governments.
Prior to her current role, Sandy was a student at the University of Adelaide. She graduated with a BA in 2012 majoring in Classical Studies and History. During the final stages of her degree she was selected for the university’s Arts Internship Program with the Migration Museum in Adelaide on the topic of Dutch migrants in South Australia. She was awarded a Summer Research Scholarship in 2011-2012.
Before pursuing her academic interests, Sandy had a long career in the printing and publishing industries as a desktop publisher. She has also served as an electoral officer for Local, State and Federal elections.
