Saima Is a PhD student at ARCPOH, University of Adelaid. Saima joined ARCPOH as a Research Associate in September 2012. She completed a BSc (Honours) in Statistics and an MSc in Statistics (majoring in Demography) at the University of Rajshahi, a leading university in Bangladesh. Prior to her current role at ARCPOH, Saima worked at the Demography Unit in Rajshahi University, Bangladesh as a Research Assistant for 2 years and as a Lecturer in Statistics and Research Methodology at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), a fast growing private university in Bangladesh, for 2 years. She has many years of experience as a quantitative researcher in the fields of Population Health, Women's Health and Fertility, Obesity, Medical Statistics, and Child Health. Her work has appeared in Journal of Biosocial Science (an ERA ‘A' ranked journal) and Anthropological Science. She is currently involved in a number of projects including the National Dental Telephone Interview Survey (NDTIS) and the Child Dental Health Survey (CDHS) with the AIHW Dental Statistics and Research Unit (DSRU).
