Dr Ruchini Jayasinghe has around 8 years of teaching experience in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management undergraduate degree programs in both Sri Lankan and Australian Universities and Institutions. Currently, she is working as the Online Course Facilitator for Quantity Surveying Practice and Construction Cost Planning courses for the Construction Management degree program at UniSA Online, University of South Australia, Adelaide. As part of this program, she is well conversant with the Australian New Zealand Standards Method of Measurement (ANZSMM), Australian Cost Management Manual (ACMM) and Costx and has also followed Standard Methods of Measurement in different contexts (UK, Sri Lanka, and Australia).
Ruchini holds a BSc (Honours) in Quantity Surveying from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and completed her PhD at the University of South Australia. She worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Building Economics at the University of Moratuwa and as a visiting lecturer at the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka (IQSSL) for Higher National Diploma and Professional Level programs. She has taught Quantity Surveying Measurements (including Residential, Commercial, Civil Engineering and Building Services), Cost Planning and Construction Economics courses in both institutions.
The purpose of Ruchini`s teaching is to attain self-satisfaction by transforming students' basic knowledge and competency relevant to the academic context and by creating a pathway for the students to investigate their own career advancement and ultimately to guide the students to develop self-efficacy.
