My research interests centre around the control of the stereochemistry in metallosupramolecular assemblies – and its application to intramolecular electron transfer, and in particular to biological implications such as structure- and sequence-selectivity in the interaction of metal complexes with nucleic acids, the mechanism of cytotoxicity and cellular uptake of metal complexes to cancer cells and bacteria, and the selective toxicity of ruthenium(II) complexes to drug-resistant pathogens and parasites.
