Rebecca O'Rielly is a PhD candidate in the Vagal Afferent Research Group, part of the Lifelong Health Theme at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institution. She completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Hons) at the University of Adelaide in 2016. She was awarded a Department of Health Sciences Divisional Scholarship in 2017 to continue her studies in a Higher Degree by Research with the Adelaide Medical School.

Rebecca has a wide research interest in health and metabolic disease. She has a background in public health promotion and human nutrition and is currently undertaking a PhD in health sciences. Rebecca aims to investigate novel dietary, lifestyle and pharmaceutical strategies for treating major metabolic diseases, such as obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes.
