I'm a theoretical linguist interested in the interaction between semantics and syntax (syntax-semantics interface). Generally, just as chemists understand the world as elements and compounds versus physicists deconstruct it as subatomic particles, so too pragmatico-semanticians view a linguistic phenomenon as a fabric of meaning versus morpho-syntacticians see it as a network of forms. All hell seems to break loose for those who attempt to weave a single coherent fabric of meaning-form. I am one of such weavers.
