Dr Puthenparampil Wilson

Dr Puthenparampil Wilson is a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Australia and a clinical Medical Physics at Royal Adelaide Hospital/Lyell McEwin Hospital. Before moving to Australia, he was employed as a research fellow at Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology and Biology, University of Oxford. Dr Wilson is the recipient of the prestigious Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award and obtained his PhD degree from Queens University of Belfast, UK. He has several years of clinical experience as a Medical Physicist and a wide range of research interests in the areas ranging from novel particle accelerator technologies for particle therapy, radiobiology of particle therapy and its clinical implications, implementation of new technologies in actual clinical settings including ethical issues. Dr Wilson has done several experiments with highly respected international groups at world-class research facilities such as Vulcan Petawatt Laser at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory UK, TeraWatt laser facility at École Polytechnique France and Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology and Biology, Oxford. He was part of the BASRCOC- CONFORM project which resulted in the conceptual design of an NS-FFAG particle accelerator for radiotherapy
