Dr Prince Antwi-Afari is a Lecturer in Construction Management at the School of Civil Engineering and Construction Management, Adelaide University. He is an established researcher in construction engineering and management, with a strong track record in advancing interdisciplinary and impact-driven research at the nexus of construction, sustainability, and digital innovation.
His research integrates core construction management principles with emerging paradigms in innovation and sustainable development, addressing critical challenges in construction and demolition waste management, circular economy in the built environment, smart and sustainable infrastructure and cities, building life cycle assessment, and digital construction, including BIM-enabled processes and smart building systems. His work contributes to developing forward-looking, evidence-based solutions that enhance the environmental performance and operational efficiency of the construction industry.
Dr Antwi-Afari has extensive experience in teaching and supervising students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and is committed to fostering inclusive, research-informed learning environments. His pedagogical approach emphasises critical thinking, industry relevance, and the development of future-ready graduates capable of driving transformation within the built environment.
His research is characterised by strong practical relevance and international collaboration, with a focus on translating academic insights into actionable strategies for industry and policy. He has published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals and collaborates with academic and industry partners across Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa.
