Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
A doctoral researcher at Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences, The University of Adelaide. Given having a background in medical laboratory sciences, a major focus of research relates to the implications of dietary nutrients and non-nutrient compounds, bitter tastants, in developing management/therapeutic strategies for NCDs, particularly type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Experienced in conducting clinical trials to determine the effects of nutrients and non-nutrient compounds, bitter tastants, on upper gastrointestinal motor function, antropyloroduodenal pressures and gastric emptying, glucoregulatory hormones, glycaemic control, and energy intake in both healthy and diabetic people to reach a better understanding of inter-related gut mechanisms underpin the regulation of glycemia and appetite.
Published high-quality original and review articles in peer-reviewed and leading journals (h-index:13; https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=7x59W_8AAAAJ&hl=en) in the field of type 2 diabetes, obesity and bariatric surgery, gastrointestinal endocrinology, and cardiovascular diseases, presented in the international conferences.
