I am an orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in trauma and hip & knee arthoplasty (revision and primary). My research interests include a range or topics within this field including:
- Trauma
- Surgical innovation and translational research
- Rehabilitation relating to trauma and arhroplasty
- Hip and knee arthoplasty
- Prosthetic infections
- Medical education
I have a number of projects within these areas along with the creation of spin-off companies. Along with MSc and PhD students I also oversee a monthly research meeting with medical students and trainees to discuss future projects and develop collaborations.

I have been fortunate enough to be awarded several grants within Australia and the UK at PI and CI level within all of my research areas.
I have a keen interest in improving medical education in MSK exploring novel methods including simulation and VR techniques. I am a member of the Academy of Surgical Educators and have been awarded the Executive Deans Award for Teaching in 2021 and the School of Medicine Affiliate Teaching Award in 2018.
