Parivash is a nutritionist, dietitian, and early-career researcher with expertise in clinical and public health nutrition, with a focus on gastrointestinal physiology, regulation of energy intake and glycaemia. She completed a Bachelor of Nutritional Sciences (2013–2017) and a Master of Public Health Nutrition (2018–2020) at top-ranked universities in Iran. During her Master’s studies and as a research assistant, she was actively involved in large-scale epidemiological and clinical nutrition research, contributing to study design, dietary assessment, biochemical and statistical analyses, and scientific reporting, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications. Alongside her research activities, she has extensive clinical experience as a nutritionist and dietitian in hospitals, healthcare centres, and clinics in Iran, providing medical nutrition therapy, dietary counselling, and nutrition education across diverse age groups and health conditions. In 2024, she commenced a PhD in Medicine at the University of Adelaide. Her PhD research involves performing clinical studies to investigate the effects of the non-nutritive bitter compound, quinine, and dietary nutrients, alone or in combination, on gastrointestinal hormone secretion and motility, which are critical for the regulation of energy intake and glycaemia in humans. By integrating clinical practice with translational research, she aims to advance the development of novel, safe, and cost-effective nutrient-based strategies to improve metabolic health and support the prevention and management of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
