My research interest is understanding the immune system in healthy human breast and the immunological underpinnings of breast cancer risk in women. I am interested in how the biology of the healthy human breast can create conditions for the development of breast cancer. I have a strong research background in immunology, cancer and infectious diseases with particular interest in translation and application of basic medical research for societal outcomes.
Originally I am from Darwin and gained my tertiary qualifications from Curtin University of Technology and Northern Territory University. I completed my PhD in Immunology in 2011 at Flinders University and joined the Breast Biology and Cancer Unit under Assoc. Prof. Wendy Ingman at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
For my thoughts on science, immunology and breast cancer, please follow my links on Twitter and LinkedIn.
