Nikolaos graduated from the Democritus of Thrace in Greece in July 2019 acquiring a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He worked as a Research Assistant at the Molecular Immunobiology lab of the department and submitted his Thesis titled “Study of the inhibitory effect of the Origanum onites essential oil on Caco-2 cell growth” before graduation. From July 2020 to November 2021, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Breast Cancer Research Unit (BCRU) under the supervision of Professor Andreas Evdokiou. On the 1st of January 2022 he enrolled in a Master's of Philosophy in Medical Science conducting research in improved adoptive immunotherapy using γδ-T cells.
