Nchimunya is a PhD student at the School of Education, University of Adelaide. She is an experienced Special Education Teacher with over 16 years of dedicated service in diverse educational roles and is specializing in supporting students with special needs and promoting inclusive practices. Nchimunya is adept at developing individualized education programs (IEPs), conducting differentiated instruction, and collaborating with mainstream teachers to create optimal learning environments. She is also a passionate Dyslexia Advocate Fellow with expertise in organizing awareness campaigns, conducting workshops, and advocating for curriculum changes. She is skilled in classroom management, instructional design, and administrative tasks, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching educational experience for all students.
My research conducts a comparative analysis of current key policies related to education of children with disabilities, to investigate their alignment to the core concepts of the UNCRP and the human rights 4A framework. It intends to examine the relevance of policies in South Australia, Rwanda and Zambia, in meeting the educational needs of children with disabilities by investigating enablers, constraints and obstacles embedded in the policies. The study uses a qualitative research design and collects data through document review, interviews and questionnaires.
