Dr Nadine Hillock is a public health researcher and pharmacist with expertise in pharmacoepidemiology, medicines evaluation, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship. She has a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Otago (NZ), a Masters in Public Health from the University of Sydney and a PhD from the University of Adelaide. Dr Hillock has over 25 years experience in healthcare across a variety of sectors including hospital, community, industry and government. From 2019 to 2024 she managed the National Antimicrobial Utilisation Surveillance Program, a key component of the One Health surveillance network for antimicrobial use and resistance in Australia (AURA). At a state level, Dr Hillock coordinated the activities of the SA expert Advisory Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (SAAGAR) from 2016 to 2024, overseeing the consultation and development of antimicrobial prescribing guidelines and other stewardship resources to optimise antimicrobial use in South Australia. Dr Hillock's current research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, including surviellance methodology and stewardship of antimicrobial medicines, as well as medicines policy and health services research.
