Dr Mojtaba Rajabi

I work on different aspects of geomechanics and petrophysics in petroleum exploration and production. My major areas of expertise are the:

  • Petrophysical evaluation of conventional and unconventional petroleum reservoirs;
  • Wellbore stability and well planning;
  • Origin of crustal stresses in sedimentary basins;
  • 1D to 3D mechanical earth models; and
  • Structural geology and neotectonics.

I also actively contribute to the following projects:

World Stress Map (WSM) Project: I am currently the Deputy Head of the WSM Project for the phase IV from 2017 to 2023. More information on this project can be found here.

Australian Stress Map (ASM) Project: The ASM Project initiated in 1996 to analyse and compile crustal stress data from different stress indicators and build a public available stress database to examine the origin and implications of the present-day tectonic stress pattern in Australia. The latest release of the ASM project just published and can be found here.
