Mohammed Hamidul Haque received his BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering (EE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1980 and 1983, respectively. He later completed his PhD degree in EE from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1988. 
From 1980 to 1983, he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. In 1984, he joined the Department of EE at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals as a Lecturer. Over the years, he was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1989 and Associate Professor in 1993. From 1995 to 1997, he served the School of EE at the University of South Australia as a Senior Lecturer. Subsequently, he joined the School of EEE at Nanyang Technological University, where he served as an Associate Professor for over a decade. Since 2011, he has been with the School of EE at the University of South Australia.
Dr Haque specialises in the fields of electrical power and energy systems, renewable energy systems, and electrical machines. He has authored over 175 journal and conference papers, along with a textbook.
Active in professional organizations, Dr Haque dedicated a decade to the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter of Singapore Section, serving in various capacities. He played pivotal roles in organizing several IEEE sponsored/co-sponsored conferences in Singapore. In 2013, he established the IEEE PES Chapter in South Australia and served as its Chair for three years. His exceptional professional contributions were recognized in 2019 when he received the IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award.
Dr Haque is a Life Senior Member of IEEE, a Chartered Professional Engineer (retired) of Engineers Australia, and a Fellow of Engineers Australia.
