Dr. Mohammad Boshir Ahmed is a “Future Making Fellow” at the Waite Research Institute (WRI) and the Department of Chemical Engineering at Adelaide University. He possesses diverse expertise across various engineering disciplines, including Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.
Dr. Boshir employs natural phenomena to gain insights into the subject matter and develop innovative techniques, methods, materials, and concepts for plant bioelectronics, healthcare, and environmental applications. His extensive research has focused on sustainable research themes.
Dr. Boshir’s current interests at WRI and the Chemical Engineering Department revolve around the development of novel technology from natural polymer-based biodegradable electronic hydrogel materials, such as hydrogel fibres, and carbon fibre-based composite materials for applications in agriculture, sensing, energy, healthcare, and the environment.
Dr. Boshir's current interests at WRI and the Chemical Engineering Department include developing natural polymer-based biodegradable and conductive hydrogel materials (e.g., gel, fibre, aerogel etc.) for agricultural, health, and environmental applications. Dr. Boshir also works on preparing carbon fiber-based composite materials for various applications. Thus, Dr. Boshir focuses on innovative techniques development for plant bioelectronics to understand plant behavior in Earth and Space environments. Also, Dr. Boshir's research includes but is not limited to plant disease detection, pesticide delivery, plant hormone delivery, and plant sensitivity monitoring in Earth and Space aspects.
