Dr Marianne Clausen
Postdoc Research Fellow (A)
School of Public Health
Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
I have a PhD in Psychology and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
My PhD research focussed on men and flexible work arrangements. Australian work and care patterns show that men are more likely to be in full-time paid work, whereas female partners tend to work fewer hours or not at all, while also performing more unpaid care and domestic tasks. This situation contributes to gender inequality. Flexible work arrangements for men could allow for sharing of paid work and unpaid domestic and caring tasks in Australian families.
