I am a PhD student in the School of Psychology. I am supervised by Professor Anna Chur-Hansen, Dr Shona Crabb and Dr Niki Vincent (Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner Vic). My research is focussed on men and flexible work arrangements. Australian work and care patterns show that men are more likely to be in full-time paid work, whereas female partners tend to work fewer hours or not at all, while also performing more unpaid care and domestic tasks. This situation contributes to gender inequality. Flexible work arrangements for men would allow for sharing of paid work and unpaid domestic and caring tasks in Australian families. My research investigates the personal, cultural and organisational issues relating to men in flexible work.
