I use a multidisciplinary approach to improve growth rates, performance and survival of animals, prevent inefficiencies in agriculture and livestock, optimise cost-benefit strategies, and understand the impacts of nutrition on gut microbial populations and the impact on animals and the environment. I am also developing non-invasive cost-effective tools and methods to optimise livestock production, I am interested in foetal programming and development and how maternal nutrition influences not only nutrient requirements but also body composition, organ development, reproductive traits, microbial colonisation, growth performance, and survival of their progeny.
