Margie's current UniSA Creative role is Communication Design Lecturer within the Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) and Bachelor of Design (Illustration and Animation). She Coordinates and teaches GRAP 2011 Design for Publication and GRAP 1018 Computer Graphics and Imaging for Design, and is the Course Coordinator for UO GRAP 1027 Digital Graphics and Imaging. Previous courses taught include GRAP 1019 Introductory Drawing for Design and GRAP 1017 Design Foundation Studio.
Margie's non-traditional research output focuses on the publication and exhibition of drawings and Illustrative artwork related to conservation and the natural environment, exploring hand drawn and digitally produced work for print and screen. She is interested in cross disciplinary collaboration in the area of science communication through graphic design and illustration, particularly in the fields of plant science, taxonomy, botany, horticulture and entomology.
Having worked in Communication Design since the early 1990s predominantly in the fields of health and education, Margie is a member of the UniSA Creative Design for Health and Wellbeing research cluster, that aims to develop design collaborations with health and wellbeing research projects and activities across UniSA and with external industry and communities.
