Margie is an Academic staff member at Adelaide University, teaching and coordinating computer graphics courses within the Bachelor of Graphic Communication Design Program, School of Art and Design. Course Coordination includes GRAP 1004 Digital Design Principles and Methods and UO GRAP 1017 Digital Graphics and Imaging. 
 
Following graduation from UniSA with a Bachelor of Education specialising in Design in the early 1990s, Margie has worked as a Graphic Communication Designer and Illustrator encompassing a range of workplaces in the industry, collaborating with clients from many fields including health, education and government, to design and illustrate professional screen and print based publications. Margie's Academic career at UniSA spanned over 30 years, drawing on her industry experience to inspire, teach and support students to achieve and grow in confidence in the areas of drawing, design, computer graphics and the preparation of files for printed publications.
 
Margie's non-traditional research output focuses on the publication and exhibition of drawings and Illustrative artwork related to conservation and the natural environment, exploring hand drawn and digitally produced work for print and screen. She is interested in cross disciplinary collaboration in the area of science communication through graphic communication design and illustration, particularly in the fields of plant science, taxonomy, botany, horticulture and entomology.
