Manisha Tamrakar completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in Bangladesh and worked as a general dental practitioner for five years. Alongside her clinical practice, she also taught dental hygiene students for three years. She later completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at The University of Hong Kong in 2015. Following her MPH, she worked as a Research Assistant for three years (2020-2022) under Professor Chu, Chun Hung, contributing to research projects related to older adults and silver diamine fluoride (SDF), including research coordination, and manuscript drafting.
Manisha is currently a PhD candidate in Dentistry (ARCPOH) in Adelaide University, Australia, where her research focuses on periodontitis, multimorbidity, ageing, and oral-systemic health using epidemiological and network analysis approaches. During her candidature, she has worked as a tutor for undergraduate "Epidemiology for Health and Medical Sciences” in semester 2 for two consecutive years, supporting teaching activities related to epidemiological methods and public health research.
Her research interests include oral epidemiology, multimorbidity, ageing populations, public health dentistry, oral-systemic health, and chronic disease research.
