Dr Malcolm Brinn

Dr Malcolm Brinn is a Research Fellow based within the Translational Medicine and Technology Group. Malcolm completed his PhD (2017) in neuroscience/anatomy and received the Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. He has co-authored 17 peer reviewed published articles, 2 book chapters and delivered 6 Oral presentations one of which received the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand tobacco control prize.
Malcolm has broad exerience as a Clinical Trial Coordinator with a smoking cessation focus. Malcolm specialises in software development for the health industry. He has extensive experience in database analysis, software design and software development using multiple languages including #C, Delphi, Visual Basic and PHP. He is currently developing a range of Augmented Reality (AR) and mobile products aimed at self-improving a patient(s) understanding and management of their disease. He is also actively involved in developing AR software to train health professionals.
Malcolm has been involved in health informatics as an Information Systems Manager St Andrews Hospital Adelaide (3yrs), Commercial Hospital Software Developer (6yrs), Commercial Finance Software Developer (3yrs), Managing Director eTrenz – Administrative and Clinical Software provider to GP’s (15yrs) and as a Clinical Trial Database Software Developer (4yrs).
