I am a medical researcher, with bachelor and master of nutrition science I am currently undertaking a PhD in Medicine under supervision of Prof Christine Feinle-Bisset and Prof Michael Horowitz. my PhD study aims to advance understanding of gastrointestinal factors contributing to suppression of energy intake and improvement of postprandial blood glucose by investigating the effects of enteral administration of non-nutritive bitter tastant, e.g. quinine alone or in combination with dietary nutrients e.g. amino acids on energy intake, appetite-regulatory hormones, glucoregulatory hormones, intragastric meal distribution and gastric emptying using scintigraphy technique. The goal of this research is to develop novel strategies for the prevention and management of obesity.
