My research investigates the contribution of education leaders in developing high performing schools and systems through the application of research to practice. At present I am looking the research literature on the role of school leadership in curriculum development and pedagogical improvement. This coincides with another area of interest which is the role of leaders in providing, promoting and participating in highly effective and relevant professional learning to provide support for teachers to improve classroom practice.I am specifically interested in supporting practising teachers and leaders to enhance their capacity to teach and lead. This involves investigating effective practice and providing professional learning in a time-effective manner to support teaching practice.Expert teaching, whole-school improvement, and ongoing professional learning for teachers and leaders can make a difference in facilitating high-quality learning for all students
