Dr. Laura Marquez-Ramos is the Associate Head of Research and the HDR coordinator in the Institute for International Trade. She has been awarded with a Faculty of the Professions Executive Dean's Award for Excellence in Research (University of Adelaide) in 2016 and 2017. Her research has appeared in refereed journals such as Applied Economics, Ecological Indicators, Economic Modelling, Journal of African Economies, Papers in Regional Science, Review of World Economics, Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice, and The World Economy. She has participated in a wide number of international projects with researchers from Argentina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Germany, Morocco, Poland, Spain and Tunisia and, currently, she is part of an Australian Research Council Discovery Project about trade and investment in Australia. She is working in four research lines: agricultural and wine economics; wildlife trade policy and biodiversity; regions in international trade; and firm-level analyses of trade and investment.
