Laura James is a PhD student at the University of Adelaide in the Department of Geography, Environment and Population.

Laura currently researches housing inequality. Case study sites include societies in Northern America, Australia, Europe and New Zealand.

Laura is supervised by Professor Emma Baker and Dr Lyrian Daniel at the University of Adelaide and Professor Rebecca Bentley at the University of Melbourne.

Laura's doctoral work is part of a larger international study funded by the ARC. The Discovery Project is: Closing the Housing Gap: A Spotlight on intergenerational inequalities, a collaborative project that brings together The University of Adelaide, The University of Melbourne, The University of Amsterdam, The University of Oxford, and Cambridge University. Laura is also a University of Adelaide AHURI Funded PhD Scholar 2021-
