Dr Kevin Chan is a member of the Centre for Enterprise Dynamics in Global Economies (C-EDGE), and currently serves as an academic researcher, lecturer, and course coordinator at UniSA Business, University of South Australia. He holds a PhD in Managerial Economics from UniSA, an MBA from the University of Manchester, and a Bachelor of Science in Business. His doctoral research explored the key attributes of knowledge-intensive precincts and examined how different configurations of these attributes influence innovative and entrepreneurial outputs.
Prior to joining the University of South Australia, Kevin held several senior roles within the South Australian Government’s Department for Trade and Investment, including Manager for the Americas in the International Markets team and Acting Director for Financial Services and Capital Markets – Investment Attraction. He brings extensive international experience through his work with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group and has provided advisory support to the governments of Malaysia, Lesotho, Bhutan, Botswana, and Mozambique on trade, investment, industry, and economic development initiatives. These engagements were delivered through programs funded by the Asian Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Bank.
In the private sector, Kevin previously worked with two global investment banks—Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York and BNP Paribas in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.  At BNP Paribas, he served as Vice President with a regional mandate, overseeing activities across the Southeast Asian markets.
